Chicago-based pop punk artist Nick Karcher is sinking his teeth into the dance rock scene with his latest single, “HOT BLOODED”, dropping Friday, November 7.
A high-voltage fusion of the early-aught’s punk and 2010’s maximalist pop, “HOT BLOODED” bites down with a playful menace that conjures a feeling both nostalgic and unapologetic. Written by Karcher, Rayven Burdette (of the Milwaukee-based Lake Drive), and produced by multi-platinum collaborator Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, MOD SUN), the track explodes with shimmering guitars, club breakdowns, and a hook built for the dance floor and mosh pit alike.
“I wanted to capture that rush of dopamine that comes with being the one who leaves a guy wanting more,” says Karcher. “It’s bratty, trashy and little egotistical — like if Avril Lavigne and Ke$ha crashed a Halloween party together.”
