BIO

Isaac Sherman is a musician, composer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Engaging with an array of analog and digital synthesizers, samplers, guitars and vocals, his music blends elements of experimental pop, kosmische, minimalism, ambient music and experimental jazz. His live shows offer a range of musical presentations, from structured compositions to free-flowing improvisations. He has performed at venues around Los Angeles such as Zebulon, 2220 Arts + Archives, Gold Diggers, Permanent Records, Healing Force Records – joining bills with musicians such as Dustin Wong, Julius Smack, Nicole McCabe, Gregory Uhlmann, and more.

Album Synopsis

“A Pasture, Its Limits” marks the debut album from Los Angeles-based composer Isaac Sherman. Drawing on a hybrid palette of synthesizers, woodwind-like samples, electric guitar, watery field recordings, and processed vocals, Sherman constructs swirling collages of sound—at once tactile and ephemeral—where pop fragments are suspended like snapshots between granular textures and recursive loops. Themes of weather, longing, and personal transformation saturate fragmented falsettos and repetitive grooves, evoking the diaristic intimacy of Arthur Russell and short poetic verses of Laurie Anderson. Elsewhere, instrumental moments evolve with a slow meditative repetition echoing the reflective minimalism of Terry Riley, Laurie Spiegel, Maman Sani and Hans-Joachim Roedelius.

NOAH GILFILLAN

As one of the lead singers and principal keyboardist of Madison’s premier  Psychedelic rock band, The Earthlings, Noah Gilfillan has been  sharing the joy of music with audiences for over a decade. His solo act veers more into the land of sample based composition end heartfelt eletronic indie music. The songs themselves are not creations, but rather discoveries. The employment of field recordings and samples alongside the voice and live instrumentation leaves the listener with a distinct sense of movement and space.

TAREK SABBAR

Bio:

Tarek Sabbar is a Moroccan-American audio artist born in Kenosha, WI. His body of works covers of range of approaches—looping analog tape noise, techno constructed through modular synthesis, live-coding generative ambience, or granular resynthesis of recorded acoustic instruments.

Though disparate in his process over the years, the through-line is a careful construction of detailed textures—a “loud softness” that can be confrontational and demanding of a closer listen.
