Friend of a Friend formed in the summer of 2020 after a lifetime just missing each other. Since the 2022 release of their debut album They have been featured in Spin Magazine, named an artist to watch by Rolling Stone, an “American Visionary Duo” by Mesmerized, an “indie rock band taking the scene by storm” by Wonderland Magazine, a “cultural phenomenon” by Extravafrench, “sonic visionaries” by Plastic Magazine, and “the next huge thing in indie rock” by Each Measure.

Official Claire is one of Chicago’s finest new songwriters. She works with calm confession, wit, and details of a poet.

She’s also a calm shredder of guitar, gritty and delicate.

Claire grew up in the Chicagoland area. Her music caught the attention of former Wilco LeRoy Bach.  Her live quartet features Bach, as well as Brooks Hannon & Jake Keenum from Crisis Actress.

Official Claire’s most recent studio offering, Midnight Dickbiter, features five remarkable new compositions. Claire played and engineered the majority of instruments.

Slow Pulp recently featured Official Claire at their Lollapaloozza after-party, and she was also featured on the main stage of 2025 Square Roots festival.
